MESSAGE FROM NJ AMERICAN WATER

Dear Customer,

This is an important notification from New Jersey American Water. Our crews will begin routine flushing of the water distribution system in your area beginning on May 14th through May 31st to provide you with high-quality water service. Flushing in your area will occur between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and 10:30 P.M. Flushing also allows us to test and maintain fire hydrants. When crews are working in your area, you may notice reduced pressure or discolored water. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear. If discolored water occurs please also refrain from doing laundry during that time. In keeping with American Water’s focus on safety for both customers and employees, please do not approach our crews while they work. For more information and to see a map of the affected area please go to NewJerseyamwater.com and click on ‘Alerts’. We thank you for your patience and understanding while we undertake this necessary maintenance of the water system.
Esto es un aviso importante sobre su servicio de agua y/o alcantarilla. Para asistencia en Español, por favor llame New Jersey American Water al 1-800-272-1325.

BOBBY’S RUN TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS PROPOSAL

Lumberton Township is proposing to improve a gravel trail that runs parallel to Bobbys Run Creek from Landing Street to Tynemouth Drive. This existing trail lies within a sanitary sewer easement for the MUA. Lumberton Township is proposing to make this a 10′ wide multi use paved pathway. The other aspect to this project includes the construction of a pedestrian bridge and boardwalk that will connect Canterbury Court to Tynemouth Drive, where a pedestrian bridge previously existed. The proposed pedestrian bridge will include fencing and lighting to enhance safety and security. These pathways are aimed at reconnecting sections of Lumberton Township to allow for families, students, and residents to travel to recreation, athletic, municipal, and other amenities without use of a vehicle. The improvements can be seen in the Aerial Concept below.

Lumberton Township is applying for funding for this project through the NJDOT Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TA Set-Aside) program which provides federal funds for community based “non-traditional” surface transportation projects designed to strengthen the cultural, aesthetic, and environmental aspects of the nation’s intermodal system.
